Dad just went back to surgery around 4:10. The doctors said that it could take anywhere between 1-2 hours for the actual surgery. With adding in the time for the anesthetic to kick in and for them to position him, it should take between 2.5-4 hours total. They are planning on taking a biopsy of the bone while he is under as well as stabilizing the hip. The doctors are stabilizing the acetabulum of the hip or part of the joint. Please pray for him that he gets through this smoothly and fast and that they get the samples that they need to more accurately diagnosis the situation.
